Password Ideas Generator
For the cases where a memorised string is not an option.
A 'password idea' is a compromise: something a person can hold in memory for a day, for a system they cannot put in a manager — a shared device, a temporary login, a kiosk.
Three words plus a number is about 45 bits. That is not strong enough for a long-lived account, and this page says so rather than implying otherwise. Use it for what it is good for: a temporary value that a human has to carry.
How to use it
- Generate a few three-word ideas.
- Pick one you can picture, and type it once to fix it in memory.
- Treat it as temporary — replace it when the task is done.
Ideas are not a substitute for a manager
The failure mode of memorised passwords is not weak entropy, it is reuse. Given the choice between a memorable password reused across four sites and a random one stored in a manager, the random one is safer by a wide margin.
Use this page only where a manager genuinely cannot reach: a device you do not own, a login you will use once, a system with no clipboard.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a three-word idea for my email?
Not long-term. About 45 bits is within range of a targeted offline attack. Use it as a temporary value and move the account to a generated 16-character password.
Why not just use a strong random password everywhere?
You should, when a password manager can hold it. This page exists for the cases where it cannot.
Do these ideas look suspicious to spam filters?
No — they are ordinary words. Avoid using the same pattern on many accounts, since the pattern itself becomes identifying.
