All tools

All 76 tool pages, grouped by what they do, with an A–Z index underneath. Nothing here requires an account, and nothing you type leaves your device.

The index is deliberately flat. Each tool is a standalone page with its own explanation, its own examples and its own answers to the questions people ask about it, so a direct link is useful on its own rather than being a doorway to a generic generator.

Passwords (22)

Generators for passwords, passphrases and usernames, plus tools to measure how strong one actually is. Everything is generated locally with the Web Crypto API.

Password generator Create a random password with the length and character sets you need. Everything runs locally. Random password A password built from a cryptographic random source, character by character. Strong password Starts at 16 characters with every character class on. The baseline we would use ourselves. Secure password The same generator with the security model written out, because that is what this search is really asking. Password maker Make a password and take it with you in one click. Random maker One click, one random password. No settings required unless you want them. Free generator No account, no daily limit, no export behind a paywall. There is nothing to upgrade to. Online generator Nothing to install. Works the same on desktop and phone. Passphrase Words instead of symbols, because you might actually have to type this one. Random passphrase Independent word selection, so knowing one word tells you nothing about the next. Password words Word-based passwords for systems that reject symbols or devices without a full keyboard. Batch passwords Batch generation for test accounts, seeded lists and one-off provisioning. Password ideas For the cases where a memorised string is not an option. Wi-Fi password Built for a password that gets typed by guests on a phone keyboard. 8 characters Create a random 8-character password. The length is pre-filled, and you can still adjust it if this site allows more. 12 characters Create a random 12-character password. The length is pre-filled, and you can still adjust it if this site allows more. 16 characters Create a random 16-character password. The length is pre-filled, and you can still adjust it if this site allows more. 20 characters Create a random 20-character password. The length is pre-filled, and you can still adjust it if this site allows more. 32 characters Create a random 32-character password. The length is pre-filled, and you can still adjust it if this site allows more. Strength checker Type a password and see the bits, the estimated crack time and what is wrong with it. Entropy calculator Pick a length and a character set; see the bits and the size of the search space. Username generator A username and a password in one go, for accounts that do not need your real name.

Random numbers (32)

Numbers in any range, dice, pickers and wheels. Uniform selection from a cryptographic source, with no-repeats sampling when the draw must be unique.

Random number Any range, any count, uniform distribution. Both ends included. Number generator Same engine as the random number generator, with the bounds front and centre. RNG The three-letter version: a random number, right now. Random picker Paste your list, one item per line, and draw a winner. Wheel picker A spinning wheel for names and options, with a result you can show to a room. Random draw Sequential draws for multiple prizes, without the re-roll problem. Random selector Choose one item or several, uniformly, from any list you paste. Random chooser For when the decision is small enough to delegate. Dice roller Roll one or several dice, with the total. d4 through d100. Coin flip Heads or tails, decided instantly. Random date A real calendar date between two bounds — leap years included. Alphanumeric Random strings of a fixed length: letters, digits, hex or lowercase. Combinations Draw groups of a fixed size from a list, without repeating a group. Multiple numbers A list of numbers at once, with or without repeats. PIN PIN codes with leading zeros preserved, because 0042 is a valid PIN. 1-2 Generate a random integer from 1 to 2, with both ends included. 1-3 Generate a random integer from 1 to 3, with both ends included. 1-4 Generate a random integer from 1 to 4, with both ends included. 1-5 Generate a random integer from 1 to 5, with both ends included. 1-6 Generate a random integer from 1 to 6, with both ends included. 1-10 Generate a random integer from 1 to 10, with both ends included. 1-12 Generate a random integer from 1 to 12, with both ends included. 1-20 Generate a random integer from 1 to 20, with both ends included. 1-30 Generate a random integer from 1 to 30, with both ends included. 1-50 Generate a random integer from 1 to 50, with both ends included. 1-100 Generate a random integer from 1 to 100, with both ends included. 1-1000 Generate a random integer from 1 to 1000, with both ends included. 3 digits A random number with exactly 3 digits — 100 to 999. 4 digits A random number with exactly 4 digits — 1,000 to 9,999. 5 digits A random number with exactly 5 digits — 10,000 to 99,999. 6 digits A random number with exactly 6 digits — 100,000 to 999,999. 10 digits A random number with exactly 10 digits — 1,000,000,000 to 9,999,999,999.

QR codes (22)

Scan with a camera or decode an image in the browser. Codes are read on your device — no upload, and no automatic redirect to whatever they contain.

QR scanner Scan with your camera, or drop in a screenshot. Images never leave your device. Scan online No app, no installer, no account — just the page. Online QR The lightest version of the scanner: open, scan, done. QR reader Reader for the cases where the code is a file, not something in front of you. Read online Upload, drag, or paste a screenshot — three ways to get the image in. Online reader No install, no account: an online reader for codes you already have. Scan a code The verb-first version: scan a code, whichever way you have it. From image Point it at a file instead of a camera: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF. Picture scanner For codes that only exist as a photo in your gallery. Camera scan Live camera scanning, right in the page. Webcam scan For desktop: hold the code up to the webcam, or just upload the screenshot. PC scanner Works without a webcam: paste a screenshot, get the content. Without app No install, no account, no app-store detour. Chrome No extension to install: the page does the decoding. Android For Android devices where installing another app is not an option. iPhone Safari-compatible scanning, including codes stored as photos. WiFi QR Reads WIFI: codes properly and shows the password as its own field. Test scanner A sample code on the page, so you can verify the scanner before you need it. Barcode Not just QR: EAN, UPC and Code 128 as well, when the decoder supports them. HTML5 scanner The working scanner, plus the API details if you are building one. ZXing The ZXing engine, compiled to WebAssembly, running in the page. Decoder When you need to see exactly what the code contains, not just a tidy summary.

Password Generator is the most used page, Random Number Generator covers most one-off draws, and QR Code Scanner reads a code without sending the image anywhere.
