QR Code Scanner Online
No app, no installer, no account — just the page.
Camera access is requested only when you press the button. Frames are decoded on this device and discarded.
'Online' is the operative word for a specific situation: a work laptop where you cannot install software, or a borrowed device where you will not sign into an app store. The scanner needs nothing beyond the browser you already have.
After the page loads, it also works offline — the decoder is cached, so a dropped connection mid-scan does not break anything.
How to use it
- Open the page on the device with the camera.
- Allow camera access, or upload a saved image.
- Copy the decoded text if you need it elsewhere.
What 'online' does and does not mean here
The page is online in the sense that you fetched it over HTTP. The scan is not: frames stay in the tab. That distinction is the entire privacy argument, and it is testable — open the Network tab, scan something, and observe that no request carries image data.
The one thing that does leave your device is the analytics page view, which records that the page was opened, not what was scanned.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is no app, no extension and no signup. A modern browser is the only requirement.
Does it work without an internet connection?
After the first visit the page is cached, so scanning continues to work offline. The decoder is loaded on first use and stays cached.
Is there a scan limit?
No. Decoding is local, so there is no server counting scans.
