Online QR Reader
No install, no account: an online reader for codes you already have.
Camera access is requested only when you press the button. Frames are decoded on this device and discarded.
If the code is already an image — an email attachment, a slide, a screenshot — an online reader is the shortest path. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure.
The page also handles the case where the code is on paper and you have no phone to hand: photograph it with anything, transfer the file, and read it here.
How to use it
- Upload the image or paste it from the clipboard.
- Check the detected type before acting on the content.
- Copy what you need.
When an online reader beats a phone camera
Three cases: the code is inside a document, the code is on a screen you are already using, or the code is too small or too reflective for a phone camera to lock on. In each, having the pixels already is strictly better than trying to capture them.
The trade-off is a manual step — you have to obtain the image first. For a code printed on a poster, the camera is faster. For a code in a PDF, it is not.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no account system, and no feature is gated behind one.
Does it store the images I upload?
No. Images are read into memory in the page and discarded. There is no server-side storage because there is no server.
Can it read a damaged or partly obscured code?
Sometimes — QR codes carry error correction, so minor damage is recoverable. Heavy damage, glare across a module or a cropped finder pattern cannot be decoded by any reader.
